Dan and I enjoyed an overnight celebration in NYC in honor of his parent's 60th birthdays. Although we knew we were going to miss our babies, it was nice knowing that they were having so much fun with LuLu and Pop! We had such a great time in the city! After we checked-in to our hotel, we headed to P. J. Clarke's and shared some laughs and appetizers. We then headed to Felidias for a delicious and beautifully presented meal. The atmosphere in the restaurant was intimate, and we enjoyed chatting the night away. Afterwards, we went to The Peninsula Hotel's rooftop bar, and we were fortunate to get fabulous seats (they were especially good for people watching).
Dan and I slept like rocks last night. It felt funny not waking up to my little man calling, "Mama, Mama." Before heading to Mass at St. Patrick's Cathedral, Dan and I enjoyed a little date. We took a walk and reminisced about our city homes in both Hoboken and London. We also stopped at the nearest Starbucks for a chai tea and blueberry muffin. We met everyone in the lobby at 10:00 and headed St. Pat's. During Mass, the Peanut was extremely active whenever the music was playing (especially the organ). We were serenaded with music and cheers on our way to brunch (The Puerto Rican Day Parade was in full effect down 5th Avenue). Our brunch at Sarabeth's was incredibly yummy, and we left the restaurant feeling stuffed. After saying our goodbyes, Dan and I headed to The Yankee Clubhouse to get Grace and Andrew new Yankee t-shirts. When we arrived home, our sweethearts showered us with hugs and kisses. We had a fabulous "Family Date Night" at Presentation Park, Brooklyn's Pizzeria, and Ben and Jerry's. It was the perfect ending to a fantastic weekend!
