Summer Firsts

Summer vacation is in full swing, and we had a fun day! We started our morning at Presentation Park with Jen, Stacie & co. Everyone had a great time, but the heat chased us home pretty quickly. It was the perfect weather for Grace's first swim lesson. She was anxious to get in the pool with the same instructor she had last year. It was an enjoyable afternoon at the pool, and we were happy to run into Aunt Maylene, Aunt Mary, the cousins, and Grace's friend's, Amanda and Grant.

A Sprinkle for Me & Peanut #3

I just returned from an incredibly thoughtful and completely unexpected "Sprinkle" for me and Peanut #3! Dana and my mother-in-law pulled off an amazing surprise! I was under the impression that our Sunday dinner was going to be in conjunction with a small celebration for Nanny and Poppy's upcoming anniversary. So, I was totally shocked when I walked into the house and everyone was taking my picture. Once I looked over and saw some of my Tumbles friends, I knew that we were going to party, but I still wasn't quite sure what we were celebrating. I was delighted when I found out that I was getting a Sprinkle!

It was a fun-filled afternoon complete with all of my favorite things! Dana selected a travel theme, which was carried through with the food and the chic stationary for the "One Hot Mama" Memory/Advice Box, which will be a great way for our new little sweetheart to get to know me a little better. Everyone wrote such sweet comments and made sure to note that I'm typically a little "tardy for the party." The tables looked fabulous from food to flowers! It was a Colonna event, so, there was a ton of food... to start: bean dip, spinach dip, and scones (with a variety of jams and clotted cream) our entrees included: tea sandwiches, quiche, orzo salad, and green salad and for dessert: petit fours, chocolate covered strawberries, rainbow cookies, and the most sensational, Chanel inspired Strawberry Shortcake.

I feel so blessed to have such thoughtful family and friends. Even though it was a "Sprinkle," I was showered with love. I look forward to using all my new gift cards and pampering myself a little bit before the baby arrives. Peanut also received lots of cute presents including a "Guess How Much I Love You" 13 month calendar, bath toys, and a PBK 3-way shadow box that's going to look great in the nursery! A BIG THANK YOU to Dana for planning such a memorable day! I can't believe our little Peanut will be here in only a few short months! We're all looking forward to meeting you Peanut Colonna!!! xoxo
When everyone greeted me at the door, I was totally shocked! I love surprises!

Some of the guests thought the C's stood for Colonna... maybe I can use that tactic to talk Danny into my next purchase:-)

I was so fortunate to spend the entire day with one of my dearest friends, Alison. I don't know how she managed to sit with me at the Baptism this morning and not slip on my Sprinkle surprise!

Grace got two adorable "Big Sister" gifts from Aunt Dana... a fancy ballerina floor puzzle and a fab Lilly Pulitzer bathing suit.
Andrew loved his "Big Brother" gift... Slinky Dog!
Danny and I even got a "date night" gift basket for after Peanut arrives! I can't wait to go to Cafe Panache, in a new Anthropologie outfit, with our celebratory bottle of wine!

God Bless Jack

We had a fabulous morning in Brooklyn Heights celebrating the Baptism of Jack Weldon Miner. He's such a sweet baby boy, and Maggie is a proud big sister. Grace enjoyed the ride into the City and kept asking if we were going to see Mary Poppins. Although we didn't run into Mary Poppins, we were happy to spend time with the Kennedy's, Miner's, and Aunt Ali and Uncle Jason:-)

Happy Birthday, LuLu!

We had a great party for LuLu tonight! It was fun catching up with everyone and watching all the cousins play together. Andrew was fascinated by Shane's cars, and Grace enjoyed chasing the big kids around the house during hide and seek. I love when we all get together! We always share lots of laughs, and Grace and Andrew wear smiles the entire time! This was a big day for my mom, because in addition to celebrating her birthday, it was "Mrs. Klein's" last day teaching the 2nd graders at Our Lady of Mercy Academy. I think that the party we had tonight was a great way to kick-off her retirement. I love you like crazy Mommy Pajami! xoxo

Last Day of School

I can't believe our little sweetheart just finished her first year at Lollipop School! It was a fantastic year! She loved her teachers, enjoyed making new friendships, and learned countless skills. Miss Caryn informed me that Grace is a "ray of sunshine," which made my heart skip a beat. She's such a sweet, happy child. Danny and I are so proud of her many accomplishments, and we look forward to seeing what she has in store as she continues her academic journey.

Teddy Bear Picnic

It's the last week of Lollipop School, and in order to celebrate the start of Summer vacation, Grace's class enjoyed a Teddy Bear Picnic. She decided to bring in Paddington Bear, which was the first teddy bear Dan and I bought for her. As always, Grace had a wonderful day with her friends and teachers. Lollipop School has been such a positive experience. It's hard to believe that our baby is almost finished with her first year of school!

Family Day at Playland

We LOVE Dan's new job! UBS sponsored a Family Day at Playland Park today from 4:00 - 9:00, and I can't say enough good things about it! The park closed at 4:00. So, we had the entire park to ourselves, and everything was free! Grace and Andrew were in their glory. When we arrived, we were greeted by Princess Belle, Elmo, Spider Man, Buzz Lightyear, and Jack Sparrow. We ate whatever our hearts desired... cotton candy, candy apples, ice cream, and a delicious catered dinner. Grace had a butterfly painted on her face, which looked adorable! The children had so much fun playing on the lawn, which was covered with beach balls and hula hoops. We saw acrobats juggling, hula hooping, and riding unicycles. We went on countless rides... including: the grand scarousel, the Playland express train, a hot air balloon, and flying dragons. Grace and Andrew even won prizes bobbing for ducks. Before we left, they received gigantic Minnie and Mickey balloons. It was an unbelievable evening, and we had so much fun together!!!
