Summer Fun

Today turned out to be an extremely fun family day! Dan worked from home this morning, and he was able to spend the afternoon with us at the pool:-) Grace enjoyed swimming with Daddy in the BIG pool, and she showed him the new skills she recently learned in swim lessons. We had a great night barbecuing, singing along to live music, and playing with the kids at our parish tailgate party with the Denis Klein crew.

Thursday mornings have been quite exciting this summer! Grace and Andrew love going to the weekly story hour at the library! Today, they received an added bonus, because afterwards, we had a lunch date with their friends at DePiero's Farm.

The Party was a HIT!

We were blessed with a beautiful day for Andrew's 1st birthday party! Although it was a bit hot, we were fortunate to have lots of shade, a water slide, and tons of water balloons to help keep everyone cool. As you can see from the photos, the party had a baseball/NY Yankee theme! Our little man was fortunate that his favorite team won the World Series during his birth year:-) Andrew loved being the center of attention, and truly enjoyed his celebration!

It was such a memorable day, and by the end of the baseball bash the Colonna boys were beat!

We had a lovely evening celebrating Aunt Dana's 30th birthday at Zuppa. The company and meal were fabulous! It was a fun way to spend a rainy Monday night!

I feel so blessed to be Andrew's Mommy! He has brought us so much joy this year! His big hugs, sloppy kisses, and adorable smile make each day a happy one! He is such a sweet natured baby, and he is crazy about his big sister! We had such a wonderful day celebrating his special day. It doesn't seem long ago that I held him in my arms for the very first time.

We started off the day at Story Time, and Andrew loved hearing the birthday song!
After dinner at Brooklyn's, we had LuLu, Pop, Nana, Grandpa, Aunt Mary, Uncle Denis, Jameson, Genny, Shane, Aunt Dana, and Vito over for a special baseball cake (made by Mommy).
Grace and Jameson enjoyed their party hats and noise makers!
Andrew did not like his party hat! Hey, it's his party. He can cry if he wants to!
He loved his first birthday cake!
He also enjoyed playing with his new trains:-)
Andrew's 1st Birthday Baseball Bash will be held in Nana and Grandpa's backyard.

I feel extremely blessed to have such a loving family and such thoughtful friends:-) It was a wonderful day from start to finish! My parents are finally home from Jamaica, and we had such a wonderful lunch together this afternoon. It was fun to catch up over our yummy meal from the Rolling Pin and delicious Carvel ice cream cake! Danny and I had a relaxing dinner at Cafe Panache, and when we got home, Danny, Grace, and Andrew threw me a birthday celebration:-)

Andrew is getting "SO BIG!" I can't believe we will be celebrating his first birthday tomorrow!!!
